Although these belts may look like standard poly rib belts, they are very different. These specially designed elastic belts have self-tensioning capabilities required by specific OE drives. Vehicles that are manufactured with stretch belts must replace them with stretch belts. These belts are not interchangeable with standard constructed belts of their same size. Dayco ela belts utilize a proprietary EPDM construction that is designed to elongate over the fixed pulley system, and then maintain the required belt tension over the life of the belt. Do NOT buy this for a Nissan Rogue. I repeat do Not use on a Nissan Rogue. While the website and in store computer system say this fits a Nissan Rogue it does not. The biggest issue is it is ever so slightly too small and therefore way too tight. After putting this on when the AC clutch engages the squeal got so loud it almost blew my eardrums. I thought maybe the pulleys were out of alignment but after replacing with the duralast belt the first thing I realized is that the duralast belt went on significantly easier. Even with the tensioner pulley pulled all the way back I was still struggling to get this belt on.

I felt like I should replace the original one since the car is 15 years old and has 100k miles on it. I took the original one off and it still looked brand new, no cracks, or anything else. I went ahead and put this one on since I already had it. But after looking at how good the original looked I wonder if people really need to change belts anymore. The quality of the rubber seems to have increase dramaically in the last few decades. I'd recommend only replacing it if you're already in there doing something like an alternator or a water pump. Otherwise leave the OEM one alone.

After failing to get this "elastic" belt over my pulleys, twice, I measures the old belt. This belt was over an inch too short for my car. I really don't think it's supposed to be able to stretch that far!
