MSD offers two Pro-Billet distributors to deliver accurate trigger signals and are maintenance-free! Under the brass terminal cap of each distributor is MSD’s race proven magnetic pick-up. This pick-up never requires adjustment and simply plugs right into an MSD Ignition control. Just above it and under our strong race rotor is an adjustable mechanical advance assembly. The chro-moly weights of this assembly slide on nylon bushings producing smooth movement of the timing. You can easily adjust the curve to match your engine’s requirements with the supplied springs and stop bushings. Each precision CNC-machined billet aluminum housing features a sealed ball-bearing and long sintered bushing for stability at any RPM and increased endurance. An oversized steel shaft receives a QPQ coating to reduce friction and prevent corrosion.

This Ready-to-Run Pro-Billet distributor has a built-in inductive module that produces up to 7.5 A to create a high voltage spark at the plug. Inside, an oversized steel shaft is QPQ coated for low friction and rides in a sealed ball bearing at the top of the distributor with an extra-long sintered bushing at the bottom. This combination keeps the shaft steady creating accurate spark delivery at any RPM. The street Pro-Billet relies on a magnetic pick-up to trigger the MSD Ignition control which delivers the powerful sparks to the coil. This pick-up is extremely accurate and never needs adjusting.

One of the best, and sometimes missed tuning tricks is not to just optimize your initial timing, but to bring in timing advance more quickly than the stock distributor can allow. Bringing timing more quickly than stock can provide substantial increases in both torque and horsepower depending on your combination.This is done by changing the springs under the cap. This kit includes three sets of springs which can be used in different combinations to provide full advance sooner than stock. Use lighter springs to bring the advance more quickly, and heavier springs to bring it in more slowly. Two new weights with nylon bushings are also included as are instructions to help with installation. Springs are color code as follows: Light Springs – Black Medium Springs – Silver Heavy Springs – Gold
