    Clutch Components

Driving a manual transmission is fun: you determine when to change the gears and you essentially have more control over your vehicle and its drivetrain. It also means a few extra parts to keep an eye on during routine maintenance, namely your clutch components.

Throughout the years, you may find it necessary to replace one or more parts in the clutch system to keep it running efficiently. When that happens, turn to our experts to get the right parts, every time.

Your vehicle has several clutch components that work as a unified system, allowing you to change gears. The master cylinder is one of the most important components. It has a reservoir that holds and transfers brake fluid to the slave cylinder to engage the clutch and switch gears effectively.

Over time, it's not uncommon for the internal and external seals around the clutch components to fail. When they do, you'll notice that the brake fluid in your vehicle needs replacing or refilling more often. Additionally, when the master or clutch slave cylinders start leaking, you'll often find a noticeable change in your clutch pedal. The pedal's resistance decreases, and often when you press it, the pedal goes straight to the floor. In order to stop the leaking, you'll either need new seals or a new clutch assembly, depending on its overall condition.

Not all issues are the result of leaky seals, though. Sometimes, there's just air trapped in the master cylinder that's affecting the car's performance. You can solve this problem quickly by bleeding the master cylinder and then refilling it.

When you shop with us, you'll find clutch kits to help repair leaky seals in your {make} without replacing the entire unit. You can also opt to buy a full clutch set that includes the discs and alignment tools for an at-home repair.
