Decent for the money.

This is a good muffler for the money. On the Buick LeSabre I bought it for, the inlet and outlet diameters and positions matched perfectly; you will want to use a tailpipe expander as available in the exhaust tools kit available for rental to slightly enlarge either the inlet/outlet or the exhaust pipe. Since many vehicles use stainless steel exhaust, I recommend that you expand the inlet and outlet pipes on the muffler to fit over the exhaust pipe. That stainless is TOUGH STUFF! Once you can slip the muffler over the existing exhaust pipe, use the appropriate exhaust pipe clamps, tightened well, to bring the installation together. My only real complaint is that this muffler is about 3" too short in overall length for the vehicle I installed it on. Thus, the tail pipe had to move somewhat inboard and I should find a longer bolt to make the hanger effective again, but so far it's been holding up well enough without that.
I would buy this product again.

Good muffler Cheap price
I was expecting this muffler to be louder than stock and when I opened the box and saw it was smaller than my old one (width & height. Length was same) and was lighter in weight I was expecting it to not be very good. But after installing it I found it to be as quiet as the more expensive one I put on my other Jeep Cherokee. Only time will tell if paying less was wise. I installed the mufflers on my 2 Jeeps about 2 weeks apart so will be able to see how they compare down the road a ways and will report back with an update if the site allows me

It pops and ticks after shut down
I have owned many vehicles with many mufflers over the last 32 years. I have had 3 different mufflers on my Jeep over the past 10 years. The original, a flow master and this one. I put this one on a few days ago, drove about 150 miles and got home. I parked in the garage, got out and started to hear tick, tick, pop. I was like what is this? Have taken the Jeep out a couple more times and the same thing after short trips(15 miles or less). Basically you get what you pay for, I did not want to spend $150 on a flow master cat back system. I was actually sick of the droning sound that the flow master made at 45-50 MPH. Plus everybody wants to drag race when your Jeep is making mean sounds at stoplights. The moral is: there is no noticeable difference in performance but the obnoxious sounds kind of shocked me after I shut my Jeep off. Hopefully it will go away but if it doesn't it's actually kind of funny. It's new and its pretty cold out so maybe it will go away. It's most definitely coming from the muffler. If you buy one don't be surprised by it. I had a buddy who bought a new Yukon for $50K and it did the same thing. It went away after about 5000 miles but we used to laugh about it. Now we can laugh at my Jeep and my $40 muffler. I recommend it if you are on a budget and have a sense of humor.
