Walker Sound Solution Exhaust Muffler

1996 Ford F-150 XLT 4.9L I had a hole in my tailpipe and needed to get that replaced and decided that the muffler had to be done as well. The specs on this weren't listed and what the Q&A peeps were saying on here didn't make sense. So here it is in a nutshell. Regular round muffler 6", 25" long (body), 29 1/4 (total length) with inlet/outlet at 2 1/4". Arrows with A-B on them. Going with A as the inlet and B the outlet (as that is how it was on the old one I took out). Once I got everything off the truck, it was pretty easy to install. Doesn't make any loud noises...pretty quiet.

The website claimed this is an exact fit for my 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager. It most certainly is not. Three issues: The overall size is 20% smaller than the original and the mounting band/strap was way too big to hold this securely. Had to make a huge "Jerry-Rig" to hold it in place. Second, the inlet and outlet are not located similarly to the original. Had to torque the exhaust pipe to fit into the offset inlet. Third, the 2.25" outlet is too big to accept the stock tailpipe/resonator. Had to buy a short adapter pipe and lop off 3" of the exhaust outlet to fit the whole thing together. Got to reuse the chopped part of the outlet in the Jerry Rig though ;-) It was most certainly not an "exact fit" but the price was right.
