Would not recommend this product for this application
Theses lift supports did not support the weight of this large hatch. They performed worse than the ones I was replacing. Would have given a Zero rating if I could. Wasted my time installing and then removing them. Then was met with resistance when I returned them!

Yes, this Strong Arm Lift Support - part# D4597 is an exact fit for your 2005 Scion tC. Replacing the lift support depends on the skill level of whoever is removing or replacing the part.
