Sealed Power Engine Valve Lifter

sealed power is a good company and this seems to to be good replacement for a lifter that's ticking or just plane collasped.with that said it's a little difficult to install you will need a 100 dollar tool to replace the lifter or remove cam which is a job. Just make sure you don't have a bent valve that will take much longer and more tools are needed.

I have a Dodge Dakota with over 300K on the 4.7L. On cold starts, the lifters clatter a bit like a diesel, then go quiet as they prime. Thought with the mileage, I'd swap em, since I'm doing valve cover gaskets and valve stem seals. Bought a set online and picked them up in store. Immediately refused them and got a refund because I was given a mixed set of 16, which was all they had (see my pics). As others have said, some have a black cap and others have a stainless steel cap crimped on, as in the stock photo. They look pretty different despite being the same part number. The steel capped ones have a much larger hole bore at the top and they also stand a bit taller, which is what bothered me the most. We're dealing with valve clearances here. Store clerk could not tell me what the difference was and I don't know which is better You know how things go. Sometimes change is price driven and at the expense of quality. I e-mailed Federal Mogul to see what the difference is. Hopefully I'll hear back from them. I can't recommend mixing them if you buy a set.
