Simply Amazing. clean & fresh air YAY!!!
Bought this for 07 Dodge Charger SE when I added the cabin fiter option myself. I did not like the mopar filter that came with the kit, it was a thin 1 layer with no charcoal and did nothing for outside odors at all. I looked at several filter brands and decided on Purolator whom I use for oil filters aswell. Purolators are made in USA and this filter is very high quality, it has 2 particle catching layers with a charcoal odor absorbing layer in the middle, also purolator includes a remove/install printout of your vehicle so you can find and change the filter. As soon as I installed it all the air smelled fresh and clean, no more smelling gas fumes at stop lights. If you order online AAP usually has a 20% off code and you pick up in store at the counter. Usually on purchases that are not sealed like filters I will drive to the store and check out the stock first to make sure its new stock and in good condition "because sometimes a filter or any item might sit for years on the shelf or can be damaged" if I like the product then I place a order using my smartphone then show them the email for pick up. Also check for rebates/specials and stock up on a few these because they need to be changed every 12mo or 12-18k miles. After $10 in rebates per filter plus 20% off these were a steal. Thanks AAP for carrying great products like this.

Wrong filter for '0 Sonata
I recommend the filter generically, but not for the '09 Sonata. After I ordered this on-line for my '09 Sonata, I read a blog that the Purolator C35661 does not fit, which is regretfully correct. Other blogs that recommend cutting down a household furnace filter are simply ludicrous because the household filter does not have either the filtration efficiency, the mounting tabs that keep the filter tight (hence the rattle some report), or in the case of thick fiberglass cut-to-size fliters, the rigidity that prevents the filter from being sucked into the fan mounted just below the filter. I then discovered a "Hyundai Cabin Air Filter Application Chart" that shows that Hyundai has been frequently changing Cabin Air Filters, and changed this part twice since 2007, but Purolator hasn't. A trip to the dealer confirmed the part # change, and a competitive price. Thankfully, I also have a '09 Sante Fe, and this just happens to be the correct Cabin Air Filter for it --- so no need to return it to the store.
Changing the filter is quite easy, but no instruction I have seen explains clearly how to get the glove box disconnected from the fragile plastic mounts. But try this: Open and empty the glovebox. Use your fingernail to lift a retention tab (on each side of the glovebox) slightly on the edge facing you and hold it in the lifted position as you gently push the clovebox door in the closed direction. As you do that, the tab will slide out of the hole in the wall of the glovebox. After a little practice, you will get both tabs to slide forward enough to clear their holes in the glovebox as well as the holes in the dash. Then the whole glove box will pivot to the floor and dump everything you didn't remove. There is no need to actually remove the retention tabs from their glovebox holes. Then pinch the end of the pivot rod so you can slide the glovebox off and set it aside in order to get to the filter cover facing you. Notice that the side of the tabs that fit into the dash have small rubber rings on them. Don't lose these, as they cushion the glovebox when it opens. Next, the plastic clamps on the filter door are part of the door and are also fragile. Just squeeze both of them together like clothespins to release the filter cover. Next, use care as you slide the old filter towards you so you don't brush leaves into the fan motor below. Notice the two edges of the filter that slide into the track are longer than the tabs on the back and front. They keep the filter tight so it doesn't rattle when the fan runs. For reassembly, replace the glove box on its hinge and gently pivot it to a partly closed position as the tabs engage their dash holes. After a few open-close cycles, the tabs will pull themselves into place in the side of the glovebox. Quick, clean and easy filter change!

Cabin Air Filter
Submitted a month ago
I have used this filter in my 2020 Toyota Tacoma 4WD truck for 5 years. It filters the air very effectively. I occasionally drive on dusty dirt roads in National Forests. It lasts for 15,000 to 20,000 miles.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

How often would I change the cabin filter?
Verified Reply - John the Car-Doc
Hi Deb, I'm glad to assist you! It depends upon the vehicle. In general, the cabin air filters should be changed about every 30,000 miles. But, it’s always best to consult your owner’s manual for your recommended vehicle maintenance needs to have your cabin air filter changed.
Does this filter have much activated carbon in it. Activated carbon is black so I did not expect to see a snow while colored filter.
