Check Vehicle Fit

Dirt and even rust can enter the fuel stream at any point along the long journey from refinery to your vehicle's fuel tank. So, your fuel filter becomes the final line of defense against damaging contaminants getting into your vehicle. Clean fuel, free from dirt particles and rust, is essential for the smooth and efficient operation of your vehicle. A tiny grain of dirt can clog injectors, leading to erratic performance and poor gas mileage. Clean fuel increases gas mileage and improves engine performance - and with the fluctuating cost of gas these days, that's really important!

Product Features:
  • Defense against damaging contaminants
  • Helps increase gas mileage
  • Improves engine performance

      Comments about Purolator Fuel Filter:

I do basic maintenance on my car (change oil, plugs, filters) and, in contrast to past experiences, found that Advance has nicely improved its website-to-store experience. It was time to change my 1989 Honda Civic's fuel filter and Advance enticed me to buy with a coupon email. Click, pay with credit card, pick up at store, done. I also like its website, how I can "store" my cars on it, and the range of products and competitive prices (Advance had the best price for this item, and a conveniently located store nearby).

I don't know about this filter's quality, but Purolator's a known name so let's hope it goes the 60,000 mile distance spec'd in my owner's manual.

A word of caution: Be careful tightening the connectors on this filter -- gotta be tight enough to avoid leaks but too tight and you'll do damage, plus make it difficult to remove upon the next change (it's a pressure fitting).

Finally, it'd be nice if Advance linked users to how-to-vidoes and other help sites for each product. I Googled "video how change 1989 Honda Civic fuel filter" and got a couple of useful hits. It'd be even better if such sources were right next to the product on Advance's website.
