Very Tacky

Has a delicate flavor that reminds one of fresh blueberry with a hint of clover honey. Excellent on warm biscuits.

Love this stuff! Used it to tack the new gaskets to my replacement water pump and the thermostat housing. It doesn't take much of this to do the job. Buying the can was overkill but there was no smaller option at the time. This stuff is sticky .. wear nitrile gloves when applying. Don't get it on your clothes because it will not wash out.

Hard to work with. Use at your own risk!
I've used Permatex Form-A-Gasket and Indian Head gasket sealer for decades. They are excellent products. I can't say the same for their High Tack Gasket Sealer. I saw it in the store and thought I'd give it a try. It may be good for simple gaskets like water outlets or valve covers, but for more complex gaskets, like some manifolds or water pumps, or in tight spots, you might want to use something else. Maybe I got a bad batch, but the stuff I got is like a cross between contact cement and bubble gum. It's stringy and dried almost as soon as I brushed it on. Lumpy, hard to smooth out. In my case, I was installing a timing cover. It's in a tight spot and you have to twist and rotate the part to line everything up. As soon as a corner of the gasket contacted the block, it stuck immediately, couldn't reposition it. Ended up destroying a $10 gasket. Had to remove everything and clean off the High Tack with acetone. Started over with a new gasket, but used Form-A-Gasket instead, which worked perfectly.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

I use this on pretty much any gasket that is holding back a fluid of some sort. Basically acts as a second set of hand and holds the gasket on whatever parts you are joining together to allow you to position things properly. Very, VERY sticky stuff, so use gloves and have a can of brake parts cleaner with a rag handy to get it off of places you don't want it. I have don't numerous gaskets with this, and never had a leak in any of them.
Only thing bad is that the stuff is that the lid on the can likes to glue itself on, so clean up really well around the opening before sealing it back up, and store it in an upright position.
