It works but there is better stuff out there.

The directions say to use a course compound followed by a fine compound but the tube doesn't say what grit it is. I am betting that this is course but no telling what the exact grit is. It leaves a rough surface on the valve seat. I will use rubbing compound after using this and see how it looks. There are better products on the market but I can't find them at this store.
Good product that worked on pitted exhaust valves.

Worked as expected and is a medium grit, mix in a few drops of water and you get a finer grit for final lapping. Also make sure you rinse the head or submerge and use a bottle brush to clean it before installing heads afterwards as it will destroy other parts if used without cleaning.
Would buy again
Did the job
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Valve Grind Compound works Great!!

I had a 17hp single cylinder engine in for service and found that both valves leaked. On the compression stroke TDC I could blow air in the carb and feel air come out the exhaust. That's pretty significant. I bought the valve grind compound and a valve hand lapping tool set at Advance Auto and this was my first time lapping valves. SUCCESS!! I've read that I should start with coarse compound and finish with fine compound. I don't know if my compound is coarse or fine, but it worked great. Don't be stingy with it - it works better with plenty of compound in the valve seat. And clean it up good when you're done. The compound is water soluble so cleanup is easy.
Easy to use.
