  • Q:

I have a 1994 Chevy c/k1500 with automatic transmission, runs great but shifts hard cold or hot when engaging in to gear and when shifting from 1st to second, shifting from 3rd on up everything is fine, just wondering if this could be the culprit

Hi Bill, I'm glad to assist you. The faulty transmission solenoid may also be the problem. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

  • Q:

is this a internal part of my 2006 3500express transmission or can i access it without dropping the transmission pan also where is the pressure control solenoid on transmission at

The location of the solenoid is depends on the vehicle. most are in the transmission accesable by pulling the trans pan and Control solenoids are cylindrical devices that can be opened or closed to regulate the flow of fluid through them. When specific control solenoids are opened, they allow transmission fluid to flow to specific clutch packs, which changes the gears engaged with the engine.

these control the line pressure and such for shifting to and from the said speeds.... there are 2 (for gears 1-2 & 3-4) in a stock 4l80e. not sure how they pertain to a 6 speed 4l80e (i believe those trans use a shift control module right?!?!)
