I utilized this tool for testing of a Volvo 850 system. I had some concerns that the kit wouldn't include the proper fitting to fit on the Volvo system, but to my surprise it did. The system is very easy to use, it was just a matter of finding the correct fitting, connecting the pump and gauge, and pumping up to the pressure. Right away it revealed some small leaks around hoses. Once I tightened them up, the system held its pressure and I was in business. The only thing I recommend is to call your local store and do not rely on the online inventory. When I drove to my local store, they told me their pump was broken and would have to have another store bring theirs down.-despite the online systems saying they had 2 units. Not the end of the world but just something to consider.

Unfortunately this wouldn't fit anything I attempted. Didn't fit 2000 nor 2004 Volvo coolant reservoirs (both P2 cars have same size coolant caps) even with the 2 or 3 supplied adapters meant to fit Volvo. Couldn't connect to a bare radiator (Volvo 1-3/16", 30mm ID inlet & outlet ports), nor could I tap into the radiator's small coolant return hose. Gave up trying to get an air-tight seal on my 97 Subaru Legacy gas tank filler opening to detect a small leak, although that may not have been the tools fault. Tried these over days and days. I'm reasonably clever, have LOTS of hose segments, pipe sizes, hose couplings, plugs, clamps, spare less-precise gauges. Biggest problems: (1) pump and adapters are all quick-connect type, so you can't just clamp a spare hose onto any of these fittings; (2) no 2 adapters will connect together in an air-tight way (trying to connect an adapter into pump's female quick-connect, than something like another adapter to bring it back to a male quick-connect to clamp a hose onto that); (3) couldn't remove female quick-connect from pump (due to oetiker style clamps) to use pump with my own hoses; (4) couldn't remove gauge from pump to use gauge alone on my hoses; (5) I don't have a spare male quick-connect to plug into pump, then clamp a hose onto the male quick-connect; (6) can't remove a quick-connect from an adapter without risk of damaging the adapter, etc etc etc. I shoulda looked for a male quick-connect at a hardware store. Returned this brand new tool upon 90 days. Glad it was a loaner. Overall I remain extremely pleased with Advance Auto's loaner program and tools, and will continue to be a very satisfied customer. Sure glad I didn't buy it for the price!
