It sucks. Or rather, it doesn't.

My first impression on removing from the box was that the section of vinyl tubing it comes with was very stiff, making it difficult to maneuver into position. The bigger surprise was yet to come, in the form of not actually sucking up any of the oil. After taking the end cap off to check the seal, I discovered it was rather flimsy to begin with and on a *crooked* rod to boot, making it close to impossible to form a good enough seal for suction. I'd look elsewhere.

Do not buy this tool

I bought this tool and have just thrown it out. It does not suck. I waste .5 liters for every 2 liters I add to the xfer case. To fill it, you need to unscrew and pour fluid in and apply with your own flexible hose before the fluid comes out the pull handle end. I got more in my eye on one pass then into the case. If I still had the receipt it would be back in the store's care.

Pumps fluid out both ends
While possible to get most gear oil in a rear end, a significant amount leaks through the piston to the handle end. For anything thinner like ATF, forget it. Buy one elsewhere.

Works Well

Used to suck out gear oil from rear differential. The project was a bit awkward laying on the ground under the vehicle but it got the job done. Drop cloth and rags are needed to minimize mess.
Sucks, but doesn't hold onto fluid.
Bought yesterday and am returning today.
The tool seemed simple enough; pull the handle and it sucks fluid, push the handle and it pushes fluid out.
The first part work, when you pull the handle it does suction fluid. That's where it stops working; with the handle still fully pulled, fluid pours out it.
TL;DR: It allows the fluid it suctions to escape.
