Very inaccurate tool

I bought pre-gapped spark plugs and to double check the gaps asked the clerk to bring me gapping tool, he brought me this product.
Factory gap was supposed to be 0.044 in. Checked the first plug: got - 0.035 in., adjusted. Second plug - 0.035 in, adjusted. Third plug - the same. Checked the 4th plug - 0.035. Then I'm thinking it's very unlikely all 4 plugs would be factory gapped to the same 'wrong' value. So I went to competitor store and bought wire-style gauge (which is actually recomended for platinum and iridium spark plugs). Sure enough with the new gauge the 4th unadjusted plug was right on the money. Had to readjust the other 3 plugs, hopefully they did not get damaged.
Will be returning this thing. Advance Auto Parts should check products they are selling and carry in stores wire-style gauges which are better suited for platinum/iridium spark plugs.

Good product, got the job done. Just make sure you remove the sticker on the bottom prior to gapping or you'll be picking sticky paper from your spark plug electrodes.
