Completely useless

This is the most useless tool ever made by any company. The interchangeable tips will not stay in place and simply move back and forth when you try to use them to remove a simple little snap ring. Spent an hour trying to make them work to no avail. Returning them to the store right now. Garbage.

FRUSTRATING AND USELESS

I purchased this Performance Tool Snap Ring Pliers today from Advanced Auto Parts. I explained what I needed to do to the counter clerk as I believed he could advise me which tool would be best for my job. He told me he was not a mechanic and could not advise me which one would be best but he selected this tool because it does inside and outside rings. I could not even get it to stay in the ring holes. I tried different tips and none would expand the ring enough to remove it. The tips slipped out every time. The problem is the "tips" turn if there is too much strain put on them. You have to loosen the screws and insert the tip them tighten it with a Philips screwdriver. No matter how hard I tightened it the tips would not stay straight. The screw head started to deform. This was a simple procedure. The ring was about a half inch wide. Also, there are NO instructions as how to use the tool since there are apparently two positions it can be set to. The Youtube videos were very clear so I know I was using it correctly. I cant tell you enough how absolutely frustrating it was to use it. This is the first time I have used such a tool but I learned a valuable lesson. You get what you pay for. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TOOL
