This Performance Tool W83051 Ball Joint Separator is designed to aid in the removal of the ball joint from the steering knuckle on Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from 2005 to 2018, but it also adjusts up to 2-3/8 in. (60 mm) to accommodate other types of ball joints. It is made from durable, impact-rated forged steel for longevity and strength on tough jobs. perfect
The perfect tool for a third Gen.Forerunner ball joint

The tool slips off of the stud and doesnt allow for the ball joint to be removed

Good for Jeep too
This item says it's for Ford but it worked very well for my 2005 Jeep Liberty. I removed the large, inner cap from the end of the threaded shaft on this tool and just used the end of the shaft to seat against the end of the ball joint. After a few turns of the wrench, the joint popped apart. Great tool.

Product says it for ford but it can be used for other vehicles. It popped off the steering knuckles off my 05 3/4ton chevy lower ball joint it was pretty seized up not even a pickle fork or a heavy hammer couldnt do. Recommend using a sacrifice socket if you dont want to damage threads
