It worked for me. Did what it was supposed to!
I was working on one of my Son's cars and noticed the CV boot was torn and had thrown its grease, so I put a new boot on. I realized there was a special tool needed for the bands. For most of my own cars Id miss the torn boots until there was an issue and just replaced the whole axle. I read the reviews and thought these were going to be a problem but I bought them anyway. They grabbed the tab ok, and they drew them tight and crimped them in well. In my reading before doing the job, I did see where people said that the factory (OEM) clamps are harder to bend than the aftermarket universal units. The clamps I used came with a boot kit that had multiple fitments. Maybe these pliers would have trouble with an OEM clamp? They worked just fine for the clamps I had, and it didnt seem like they were on the verge of failing when using them. They were a little tight when I unpacked them, as in opening and closing them, but I just opened them all the way and closed them a few times and they were good. No reason for me not to give them a "5". For as many of these clamps as I hope to do before I leave this planet, they should be fine.

Not good
I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to for this waste of money and time. During the first use the tab that deforms the boot clamp (i.e. the most important part of the tool) broke off. Returned to store and got a new pair - same exact failure occurred. Will be returning the second ones for a refund. Lifetime warranty is useless if the product doesn't even work.

The center supporting bracket gets in the way for any ear clamp to be clamped down. Waste of money.

Product is not great. Needs modification.
I tried to use the pliers like it is out of the package but it did not work. Then I realized I could unscrew and remove the middle part of the tool that seems to get in the way when trying clamp cv clamps.

Don't Do It
Bought this yesterday in a pinch instead of buying a more expensive one online and waiting for it to arrive. It wouldn't even grab the clamp to squeeze it. I had to grind a bit off the edges to make it sharp enough to grab the clamp. The first time I got it to grab it bent with hardly any force.

Poor design
Don't use this or the type of clamps that it works with. I would recommend an entirely different "flip" clamp style that requires no specialty tools.
