Would not recommend
Does not grip spring evenly, so compression always happens at a slant, making alignment almost impossible. Tried many combinations of the hooks/coils to try to maintain a straight compression, impossible. Choose something better and external.

I bought this tool to help replace a broken front coil spring on my classic. It worked perfectly, saved a ton of time. This tool is for vehicles with separate coils and shocks, NOT struts.

Internal coil spring
Would not work on my application. To large to come out of the bottom of the lower A-arm. Bolt to long when spring compressed. Would work on larger full size truck springs in my opinion. My application for this tool was a 79-93 Mustang.

used this on my S10 to hold the coil on the frame and compress it a bit to replace lower control arms.
