I purchased one of these batteries (6 volt red top) 10 plus years ago for an old ford tractor. I bought it mainly because it is sealed and I didn't want acid on the new restoration done. I use the tractor 2 or 3 times a year and this battery has been great. I ordered through Advance Auto Parts on-line and was very satisfied with the price and delivery. When one repurchases the same battery as used previously, you know there was satisfaction with the first one.

This will be my second battery within a year that has gone bad (I daily drive my truck) my alternator is new and within spec so it's not being under it over charged but the battery dies within 4 months

The early 911s that used a two battery system were a 12 volt system, with two 12 volt batteries connected in parallel. The parallel connection doubled the amperage, but not the voltage. If you connect two 6 volt batteries in parallel, you still have a 6 volt system. Don't buy this battery for a 12 volt system.

The 6 volt Optima is a great product, they're light, leak proof. The first one I installed in my car lasted 12 years. Which is unheard of. The second one only lasted less than 3 years. Which upset me. I don't know if the manufacture of these battery's has been moved to a new location, or this one was defective from the start. I', hoping to get a lot better longevity from the replacement.
