Cons

    • 30000 mile maintenance

Comments about NGK V-Power Spark Plug:

This is an update on my original review. We have driven these NGK spark plugs for 3 weeks. Performance has been consistent and improved. These spark plugs are recommended on the Dodge Nitro forum website for good reason. We have a somewhat steep hill on a highway nearby. The truck used to rev over 3500 rpm and downshift to climb it. With these new plugs, the truck is climbing the hill at 2500 rpm with no downshift. The Nitro has 60000 miles. I changed the plugs at the Factory Schedule A interval. In hindsight, I wish I'd followed Schedule B (change every 30000 miles) and changed the plugs as soon as I bought the truck. The factory recommends these copper core spark plugs. After driving new ones for 3 weeks, I can see why.
To remove and install the spark plugs, I used a standard 5/8 spark plug socket with about 10-15 inches of extensions, depending on plug location. All the coils and spark plug wires are right on top of the engine. Access is very easy. If your 3.7 Nitro is under-performing, I highly recommend 6 of these NGK spark plugs and some time under the hood. The improvement will be worth every minute.

                A:

Hi Dan, I'm glad to assist you. With economical performance and improved ignitability over OE Nickel NGK Spark Plugs, V-Power is original equipment manufacturer - and racer-approved. It has lowers ignition system voltage requirements, greater ignitability and performance over. The Iridium spark plugs are designed specifically for the performance enthusiast. It offers extreme ignitability, improved throttle response and superior anti-fouling.

this plug is preset for your application from NGK. gap is set at sweet spot for best condition's of your truck or car. but yes you can change gap if you like it to not run at best and make it less instead, lower gas mileage too.yep go right ahead, but result will be a down turn too. not sure why you would want a plug that runs at its best sweet spot. but heck they only waist money so you could of had the best too. it your doing.

I would go for the gap that is stated on engine decal under hood. I found that it works best for my jeep. My Jeep ( liberty 3.7 ) calls for a gap of .40 on engine decal

            • Q:

The gap on these are .044 and the spark plug gap that the JEEP manual call for is .042. Can the gap be adjusted.

              • A:

Gaps are preset. Many plugs have a gap range that will work at the best level. For a example one of the plugs we test, can have a range of .95 to 1.00 mil. So yes that gap is good.

Like for real. They can be. Do you realize the .042 and .044 is only like .002 different. Jeez.
