Seal worked fine, But.

2002 Jeep Cherokee rear seal leaking. To replace this seal you have to pull the axle and then take it to a shop to have the Bearing and seal pulled off axle to just replace the seal. And you also have to replace the bearing because the press will probably tear up the bearing and then have all pressed back on. Thanks Jeep for making it so EASY. Seal and bearing worked fine.

Seal is good. Info to change w/o press
Here's some info for those that think you need a press to install this. I've done quite a few of these on 99-04 Grand Cherokees and I can do it in about an hour. First to remove the old seal you need to remove the old bearing and collar which are pressed on. Take a dremel with a reinforced cutting wheel and cut the collar off. The service manual says to get close to cutting it through and use a chisel at the very end to split it apart. I won't lie I've never used a chisel, and I've knicked the axle shaft before and it didn't cause any problems. I usually cut the bearing off too. Reassemble with the new parts and it will all go in place except the collar. Now you want to take a chain link fence post (if none available get a black iron or steel pipe from Home Depot for a few bucks)and grab a sledgehammer. Stand it straight up and
put the pipe over the axle shaft so it sits on the collar and smash it with the sledgehammer until it's back in the correct place. I know it sounds like a crazy way to do it, but I haven't broken one yet.

It Seals
Stopped the fluid leak from my Dana 35 axle. Paired it with a new axle bearing and lock collar. No leaks, no issues.
