Replacement for what seemed to be the original distributor cap. The selling point for me was the color(Red), which matches my MSD spark plug wires and MSD Brand! Plain and simple, you pay for what you get. Being that I swapped it out, changed out the plugs and wires... It idles better, sounds cleaner and definitely has increased horsepower!
Good Cap - Bad Rotor
Purchased this MSD Cap and Rotor Combo Set Online Via Advance Auto Website. Had it shipped to my home. A few days later it shows, a few more days and I get to install it. MSD Cap goes on fine, but that dang MSD rotor does not want to go on. This MSD Cap and Rotor is for a Chevy Small block 305-350. I have a 305, and a 350, both with stock distributors. I tried the MSD rotor on both stock distributors, no luck, it would not fit on either distributor. I called MSD down in El Paso, TX and got an ID # with which to send them the MSD rotor and my stock distributor/rotor combo. They don't really understand why it is not going on...I don't either. So I am going to let them figure it out, as I am done trying. And NO, I am not going to beat it on with a hammer, shouldn't have to. The Previous Accel Cap and Rotor go on just fine. So at the moment I can not recommend the MSD Cap and Rotor Combo, until they fix the MSD rotor fitment issue.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
