Mr. Gasket O-Ring Style Chrome Water Neck - 45 Degree

(94 Bronco 5.8) So far so good. No leaks. The o-ring comes all balled up inside the package so it does not lay flat like it needs to be installed. I was able to get it to seat though by using zip ties to hold the new thermostat in place so I could focus on seating the o-ring while I tightened the bolts. I re-used the factory bolts because they have a captive lock washer which will affect the torque value when using a torque wrench (Chilton calls for 12-18 ft lbs). Also the little neck is slightly smaller than OEM but I was able to tighten the clamp on the hose enough so that it sealed just fine. Make sure to clean up the mating face (plenum) real good with a gasket scrapper and fine steel wool, carefully removing any debris that goes inside (see attached pic)

Thought this seemed too good for the price, & I was right. The flange is much thicker than the alum. original to compensate for the pot metal construction. This made it doubly difficult to install given the tight confines & tricky balancing act of keeping the t-stat in its recess while fighting the bolts. In spite using RTV to try to hold the O-ring & t-stat in place, O-ring still fell out of place & caused a leak. On the second attempt, the flange cracked & I happily threw this Chinese product in the dumpster!
