Mr. Gasket High Performance Thermostats are designed to resist large variations of coolant pressure at high RPM (revolutions per minute). This allows them to fully open at correct temperature consistently regardless of engine RPM. The design also provides the high flow that engines operated a higher RPM need. This thermostat also features a copper/brass construction to further resist corrosion. Mr. Gasket High Performance / High Flow Thermostats are suitable for street, drag race, or oval track applications.

Best Thermostat!
I had a 160 degree Mr. Gasket heavy duty thermostat in my 1988 Silverado and it ran at exactly 160! I needed a higher temp for winter and did not know they came in anything but a 160. I bought a Stant 195 degree thermostat. My truck ran about 200-210 degrees! I bought a 180 degree Stant thermostat and my truck still ran at 200-210! I found a 180 Mr. Gasket heavy duty thermostat and now my truck runs at exactly 180! Will probably buy a 195 degree and replace it. They say race only but its fantastic for normal driving.

Failed in 4 months
Thermostat failed open after less than 4 months of use. Was wondering why my car took so long to warm up, and after removing my intake manifold to repair a leak, I found the thermostat had failed. Won't be buying Mr Gasket thermostats any time soon.

It has "180" stamped on it (in the pic) and even has the "degree symbol" as well. But you have to know how to read and KNOW automotive symbols to "get it!"
