The center shaft appears to be molded to the rubber bushing. How do we know what rotational angle to press the bushing into the trailing arm. If it is not rotated correctly, it would tear up the bushing.

With reference to your inquiry on Moog Trailing Arm Bushing (Part No. K200064) replacing trailing arm bushings is one of the difficult process. The difficult part is removing the old bushes for which you would need to pretty much use a hack saw to hack them out. For installing a new one you would need a trailing arm bushing install tool. I would recommend checking internet and especially youtube where there are there are tutorials on how you can make one yourself using some pipe bits and a large screw. I would also suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic who can assist you in pressing them in. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

    • Q:

Is this a performance part or merely a replacement part for the questionable design OEM bushings? Is this rubber or urethane elastomer?
Asked on 10/3/2011 by Tim from Elkhart, IN

      1 answer

Moog bushings are designed to absorb vibration and noise and deliver better handling, while providing the performance of urethane without the squeak normally associated with it. They are not affected by oils, alkalines, ozone or hydrocarbons; can withstand extreme weather conditions; can carry substantial loads; and will not discolor or crack with age.
