Comments about MOOG Tie Rod End:

These were purchased to replace the tie rod ends on my 2004 Nissan Altima. Tie rod ends are easy to install if you've never done it yourself. Save the money and learn how. It only took a few minutes to remove the tire, cotter pin holding the castle nut to the outer tie rod and loosen the jam nut that's against the outer tie rod free. The outer tie rod then spins off. Just make sure you mark where that jam nut is located to ensure you're close with alignment. You may have to take it for an adjustment depending on how different the tie rod ends are compared to those you replaced. And especially if you replace the inner tie rods. Tools needed? Needle nose pliers to remove and install the cotter pin, an adjustable wrench (to hold the outer tie rod in place as you remove the jam nut (can also use an open end wrench, just not sure of the size), 19 mm socket or box end wrench (for the castle nut), and a 22 mm open end wrench (for the jam nut). Oh, and a sledge to break hit the lower control arm to break the outer tie rod free. There's often a flat spot where you can hit. The tie rod may pop right out, but that banging usually breaks it free and prevents you from damaging the threads if you hit the threaded part of the tie rod. This is useful if you're doing work other than changing a tie rod, say replacing a bearing or whatever.

Comments about MOOG Tie Rod End:

Moog makes solid, durable tie rod ends. Made in USA. I have used it in my other car for 7 years without any problem. The only disadvantage of this product - it needs to be regreased time to time.

Comments about MOOG Tie Rod End:

Installed on 01 Maxima. Old part worn out. Very easy to change. Took about 15 minutes. Install grease fitting prior to installation on car. If you watch where jamb nut is then it should be easy to intall new tie rod end in same location. Tighten to about 20 ft-lbs. Moog makes good products.

My Altima 3.5 had 115k on it...boots were gone and time to change. The front end seems more tight and solid than before. Always a Moog customer.
