The Moog Idler arm is significantly redesigned from the what the factory has in place. It is much beefier and looks like it will last a lot longer than the OEM's. While it is beefier and thicker there were no problems with it bolting right into the my 98 F-150. My favorite part about it is that you can grease all of the moving parts. So many companies make ball joints and tie rod ends and whatever that are sealed and not able to be greased. Even if the Moog was not redesigned to be bigger, it wouldd last longer just because ball joint is grease-able and the rotating portion is grease-able. In all a great part and well worth the price.

Buy quality steering parts

Comments about MOOG Idler Arm:

I replaced the idler arm on my 2003 F150 with one from an auction site four months ago. It was a cheap part that I thought would go a couple of years. Checking it yesterday for state inspection it had significant play in it at the frame end, more so than allowable for in section in VA. This was less than 3000 miles since installed. I greased it well with good grease at installation, the no name part was simply bad. I put on a Moog idler arm today. The part looked much better out the of box with better looking, bigger ends. I think the Moog part will go the distance. Will not try to save money on steering parts again.
