Problem creator
This is the first time I've had a bad experience with a Moog part, as they are usually as good or better than OE parts.
This first problem with this part in my application (02' CR-V) is that the bushing is thinner than the depth of the hole in the control arm, so it's not obvious how far you're supposed to press it in. Flush with the top, flush with the bottom, somewhere in the middle, who knows?
The second, and most serious problem is that this is basically a metal ball joint that replaces a rubber bushing. The control arm may as well be bolted straight onto the subframe with this thing in there. Very loud booming noise in the cabin now going over and kind of road imperfection, and many new rattles. I had no idea that this what I was buying.
On the plus side, the handling is better, and the ride could be considered more sporty I guess (it's a CR-V though...). I have no doubt that this bushing would last forever too, whereas the rubber ones are ruined frequently. That's why I give it 2/5 stars...on a sportier Honda that uses this bushing, maybe it's the way to go. Just not on a CR-V!
