Unacceptable

Moog lower ball joint for KIA Sorento, Unacceptable, do not buy. Reason: The boot that is supposed to seal the joint from water will not stay on, the area the boot fits over is smooth(no retaining groove. The boot itself is stiff and has no spiral clamp to retain it and seal out water/dirt. I tried to pres it on with the metal ring from ball joint press and it pops off every time. I Installed the joint to see if the downward pressure from the spindle would hold it seated (NO) Poorly designed. I removed the joint and returned them to Advance. I found ball joints at another parts store that had grooved seat for the boot and wire spring clamps for a perfect weather seal. One other thing, the package shows them having a grease fitting but they didn't. With a poorly fitting boot water and dirt will enter these and cause a rapid failure. Moog needs to correct this engineering blunder.
I would not buy this product again

Could not set the boot on the bottom of the ball joint.
MOOG's downlhill quality

Normally before I put in a new joint I'll lock it in a vice to work the ball & socket a bit, spread the grease around and free it up some to make lining things up easier. On this LBJ I could move it with a single finger. I was doing wheel bearing on both sides and comparing it to the original that I didn't replace with almost 200kmi it was only marginally tighter.
You will also need to pack it with grease manually after install (no zerk fitting) since the boot needs to be off for installation. So the fact of the joint being dry kinda made sense. But is it so much to ask to include a grease packet with this design being it's a so called " sealed" joint. Others complained about the boot not seating properly. I didn't even bother messing with it, not because of fitment, I just hate the design. When compressed there's no strain relief for the rubber so IMO it would be more prone to cracking over time. I was careful removing the old boot and since it was in decent nick I opted to just reuse that one. OEM boot is a hair wider so doesn't bite onto the MOOG, but it'll seal well enough with the knuckle back on.
This LBJ is also 'MADE IN CHINA'
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Never again with moog
Lasted only 1 year. Highway driving. Not worth the free replacement for another fail.
