2001 Ford Ranger xlt
Most Liked Positive Review
exact fit...easy installation..
I could not align the steering on my 2004 Ranger prior to installation of the lower ball joints. After installation alignment was completed without a problem.

Bought for my 2002 2wd Ford Ranger. The joint itself appears to be of the excellent quality that I expected out of Moog. I just installed the joint last week so it is still too early to comment on longevity. The reason I gave it three stars and not five is the grease fitting. The holes for the grease fittings in these joints are not tapped. This means you must rely on the grease fitting to self tap as you screw it in. This ended up being a huge headache for me. I could no get the fitting to start the threads straight and ended up having to go back to Advance and swap parts to give it another try. Luckily Advance has good customer service. Bottom line is this is a great replacement part, but be very very very careful screwing in the grease fitting and make sure it is perfectly straight with the hole. I wish Moog would have just spent the extra couple cents and threaded the hole. Be sure to try and screw the grease fitting in BEFORE you install on the vehicle. This way you won't have to press it back out when the fitting cross threads and you need to exchange the part.

Great replacement lower ball joint
Staff Reviewer -
Moog makes a quality product that was much better than the factory ball joint in my 2000 ford ranger. I replaced both the upper and lower ball joint in my truck with great results.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Good Ball Joint bad bolt
Staff Reviewer -
This was a good product just bad hardware for the installation. Bold snapped using a nut driver and a wrench to tighten.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Easy install
Staff Reviewer -
I found a busted joint while changing the oil so I went ahead and changed both left and right. Install was a snap and the grease fitting is a great way to keep the joints lubed. Should last a lifetime. I did have a little bit of trouble putting the grease fittings on at first. I had to use a pair of pliers and force twist them on. I've also had a little bit of grease come out of the joint but I added grease just before and after installing so this is probably why. Overall great replacement for the Ranger.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
Parts worked great!
Staff Reviewer -
I had heard and read that these were quality parts and I was not disappointed. They fit good and the truck is driving much better and not making the metallic noises that it was before.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
