Not sure if these were worth the extra cost
After reading reviews of the Moog ball joints vs. the Driveworks ball joints for my 1995 S-10, I decided to pay more than twice the $$ and go for the Moog ones. The reviews of the Driveworks ball joints complained of poor quality fasteners. and since I was going to be replacing one of these on the side of the road, I wanted to be able to just install it and drive my truck home.
When I picked up my order, the ball joints came in Driveworks boxes, but with a Moog sticker and part number. I chiseled the rivets from the factory ball joint, installed the new one, and when tightening the 4 upper attachment bolts, they stripped out before they were very tight at all. I was only using a 4 inch long 1/4 inch drive ratchet on a 10mm socket. The large lower nut also stripped out WAY before I reached the recommended 61 ft-lbs torque setting, but I was able to get the cotter pin in the hole so I was able to drive the truck home.
If I had known how cheap these 'better quality' Moog parts were, I would have just gone with the cheaper Driveworks ones.

QUALITY PART, WORTH THE MONEY

THE QUALITY OF THESE BALL JOINTS IS OBVIOUS. I DRIVE THIS TRUCK EVERY DAY AT EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS AND FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE KNOWING THAT THESE PARTS ARE IN THE FRONT END OF MY TRUCK. WHEN COMPARING TO THE CHEAPER LINE OF PARTS THE DECISION TO BUY MOOG WAS A "NO-BRAINER".
