First off, this is a good quality shock. Restored my ride and I expect will last longer than OEM (bad left front by 50K miles). No problem there - and it's nice to get new springs too (they do lose some strength over time). I really liked not having to mess with the dangerous job of transferring the springs - frankly I would never do it.
I do wish they included more specific directions for the F-150 - I couldn't figure out how to get the old strut out until finding a video on-line (you must disconnect the upper ball joint and the sway bar link - reconnecting those takes some patience until you get the nuts on far enough to put a wrench on the end to keep it from spinning - I used duct tape on the jaws of a vise grip to hold the shaft of the ball joint). Make sure you put the strut in top first too - I did one by connecting at the bottom first and could not get the studs on top to come through the holes at the top. I would not recommend doing this if you have never done anything more complicated than change oil, but if you can do something like change brakes, this is not that much more complicated - just bigger, heavier parts. Remember, on-line videos really help if you've never done some of the dissasembly required.

Nice complete unit
Installed on both driver and passenger front on my 2010 f150 stx and what a difference. I bought the truck new and after 90 k miles you forget how she rode when she was new. Very pleased and will use again . Btw it's cheaper to do these and better overall than installing a new strut in the coil

Well amde, great ride
Monroe makes a great strut here, and it fits well, and the truck rides well. But Rock Auto Sells the Monroe 171141 for $125.59, and thats'$100 less each saving $200 on parts right of the bat. Shipping is just $12.99.
