Check Vehicle Fit

Monroe® OESpectrum® shock absorbers are engineered specifically for foreign nameplate vehicles and feature the latest global original equipment valving technologies. Developed through years of research and on-vehicle testing, Monroe® OESpectrum® units provide an unprecedented level of handling precision and control while filtering out the ride harshness commonly encountered on many foreign nameplate applications. This unique blend of control and comfort is made possible through Tenneco's 'Twin Technology Active Control System', an exclusive internal damping control technology first developed for leading global vehicle manufacturers. Tenneco's Twin Technology consists of its latest Impact Control Valve (ICV), which delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and a patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • Twin Technology: Impact Control Valve (ICV), delivers exceptional control under virtually all driving conditions, and patented Low Speed Tunability (LST) piston design that isolates impact-related noise, vibration and harshness.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Special Seal: 'Self-lubricating' fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.
  • 1-3/8 inch (34.9 mm) bore (On most applications)
  • 5/8-inch (15.9 mm) diameter piston rod (On most applications)

I learned the hard way when buying shocks cheap is not the way to go. After much research I decided to try the sensa-tracs. My 98 S10 is more stable with little dive or body roll and never comes close to bottoming out. It is definitly safer to drive and rough surfaces don't overwhelm the suspension. My only complaint would be they are a little stiff which may improve as they break in. I still prefer stiff and stable over mushy and lack of control.

Very Bumpy Ride

I replaced Bilstein shocks on my 2000 S10 with these Monroe Sensatrac light truck shocks and even through the Bilsteins were fairly worn out the ride now is very bumpy!

Comments about Monroe OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber:

These shocks look like OE replacements, but perform much better. With only 30K on my factory shocks, I was experiencing front wheel "jiggle" at high speeds and bouncy ride. I replaced the rear shocks first (loved the results) then replaced the front set. My Blazer rides much better than new.

Installed on a 96 GMC Sonoma. Original shocks had 138,000 miles on them. Easy install. Factory rubber bushings were more "bountiful" than Monroe rubber bushings but still seem fine.

I have a 1999 GMC Sonoma SLS 2WD Extended Cab 2 door 4.3 liter Vin X with the factory ZQ8 Sport Package (lower). Will these fit and which others fit for front and rear shocks?

                        A:

Hello Aquanut, happy to help with that question. Part number will not fit it specifies Front; RWD; w/o ZQ8 Sport Package. To find a set of shocks front and rear that will work we would also need to know if your truck is 4wd or Rwd. Please get in touch with your local store or call us at 1-877-238-2623 and a Parts Pro can help you find a set.
