I got a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, 4x4 with a 318, under the hood. i was getting about 10. mpg now i am gettin about 13-14 mpg and the engine has 225000 miles on it. i also pull a trailer with my 1973 Harley on the back. its a very smoth ride i put these on with monroe sensa tracks on the front it lifed the truck about 6 inches higher than it was and when pulling the trailer i don,t feel that bounce you get a lot of times when pulling a trailer. i drive down here in Texas where the heat puts a lot of groves in the road before i put these on they would though my truck al over the road now i am able to maintain my lane with out worry about loseing control.

Great for all Trucks especially HD
These did not make my trucks rear suspension more stiff than it all ready was. The new shocks did smooth out my rear end on bumpy NC roads. I added these to a truck with overload leafs and the load levelers smoothed out the rear end. It is still a Heavy Duty truck, so I do not expect it to ride smooth like a half-ton truck.

Very poor design. I would not buy again!
I would NOT purchase these again.I bought them in May 2001 because my stock shocks were gone 130k miles. I put these in because my father has the non-coil over Sensa-Trac shocks in his truck and they prform well. I bought these thinking the coil over would help as I do lots of heavy towing.
My problems started as soon as I put these in. Sporadically the truck started bouncing uncontrollably in the rear after hitting a pothole or large bump in the road. I have to come to almost a complete stop when the bouncin starts as it will shake the truck almost off the road. Once it happened on the interstate after hitting a pothole. I was right beside an 18 wheeler and it was all I could do to keep the truck in my lane. Very scary!!!
Plan on writng Monroe a letter advising of the issue and asking Advance for a refund. FYI...I also replaced the leaf springs as I had ovrloaded them in the past andI thought this migh be the source of the bounce. The shock still made the truck bounce even with new Leaf springs! YIKES! Stay far away from these!!!
