This shock was suppose to fit a 1997 2wd Ford Ranger. The shock bottom housing would not fit over the mounting stud. Took it back to AA it was suppose to work. They ordered a higher priced shock to see if it was different. It was and worked but for more money. I can't believe this issue hasn't happened numerous times. Bottom line is they made it right but three trips.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Truck Shock Absorber:

The product was great for the price. I just installed it and it is a good replacement for my old OEM shocks after 125,000 miles. Makes the ride more comfortable and it does not have the bounce when I hit a dip or hump in the road.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic Truck Shock Absorber:

Love my new shocks. They've been on my ranger for about 3 weeks now and are holding up. Only complaint, didn't like the yellow so I spray painted them red.

For help with your project, I recommend getting a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. It should be able to help you with detailed instructions on how to do many things including the specs.
