    • Q:

Eh...installed these on the rear of a 96 Tercel yesterday. Now it sits about 5-6" higher in the rear than before...butt is sticking way up! This is part # 81297...are you sure that's the right part?
Asked on 3/23/2014 by Terry from Fountain, CO

      1 answer

I'm happy to help, Terry! According to the information provided these Monroe Gas-Matic struts are the correct struts for your 1996 Toyota Tercel. Monroe now has these parts listed as Part No. 801297, they have the same dimensions. Also, the strut should not affect ride height. The height of the vehicle is more affected by the springs and the strut is designed to provide damping and keep the wheels in contact with the road. Were new springs installed at the same time? That could be the cause of the large height change.
