Will not work with stock oil pan. If you try to install this on a Jeep with a stock oil pan you will have clearance problems with the oil pump housing and the pick up tube. To my knowledge I do not know anyone who makes an aftermarket deep oil pan for the 4.0L I6. Just stick with the stock replacement unless you have the means to modify your oil pan.

Works great in my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. No issues yet.

I've run this about 500-600 miles so far and haven't had any issues. My Jeep has 193,000 miles on it and the oil pressure was running about 40-50 lbs of pressure before this install. It's running about 50-60 now so I gained about 10 psi.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I would definitely recommend this oil pump.

I put it in my 91 cherokee 4.0 h.o. It fit perfectly, be patient with the pickup tube. I used a urethane mallet, it worked very well. It brought my pressure back up and corrected a power loss issue.

I would consider buying this product again if needed.

Fitment of pump is exact. Easy install. I bought the pump which came with the pick up tube. Problem was the pick up tube was about 2mm in diameter wider than the receiving hole of pump. Might have been a defect in tube. Turned a 30 minute job into all day hassle. I made it work by sanding down the male nip of tube and hammered in with rubber mallet.

Works great got my oil pressure back to normal was was around 15-20 at idle and 35 going down the road. Now idle is 40psi and 55-60 going down the road. Easy install seeing as I was already doing the rear main seal.

This is a high volume pump not a stock one!it may have stock pressure but has 20% more volume! This isnt the 1 used by chrysler but can be used if wanting to upgrade flow amounts of oil. Most high volume oil pumps are required to use a hardened oil shaft! You should check with melling or on the internet before use of a high volume pump on a jeep!

Yes, this would help keep the oil cushion between the bearings more friendly. I would coution you to look into clearance issues with this pump though. I am looking myself to see if the sump needs to be modified or if it is a straight forward, no struggle replacement.
