Yes- it is a must to diagnose spark plug issues
I used this product for testing my lawnmowers spark plug, I replaced and tried almost everything and I still couldn't get the mower started until I bought the spark plug test, and found out that the spark plug didn't work, once I found this information out I was able buy another one and my mower started right up.

Product worked as described. Have to keep hooking and unhooking up to different plugs. Easy to tell if there is spark. If your looking to verify spark for example to check individual coil packs, there are other products that are better.
