High Flow Air Flitration
A simple performance upgrade by K & N Engineering.
This reusable multi-fiber high density cotton gauze air-filter provides optimum flow under the most demanding conditions. The flat panel filter has a durable polyurethane filter media binding and a thick sealing gasket base. Depending on your use, an occasional dab of sealing grease by K&N may be needed.
Although it may seem a pricey purchase, this product will pay for itself over the long run. K&N provides a million mile warranty, so this may be the last air filter you need over the life of your vehicle.
It is an ecological alternative to single use disposable air filters.

Sigh
Ordered this item online with a bunch of other stuff. Picked everything up and went home. This item was allready opened then taped shut. The oil and was sprayed inside the cap. Later found out the oil did not spray correctly out of the can. In the same order, I picked up a new oil filter that had oily residue and oiled fingerprints all over it. Lesson learned, check all items before leaving the store.

A lot easier than expected.

Replaced an intake system that utilized an oiled foam filter with a different type of system that incorporated a very USED K&N cone filter. It was filthy and black. On top of that, it had sat in a box for several years before I got my hands on it.
Bought and paid for the K&N filter cleaning kit online with PayPal, using one of Advance's great promo codes that got me 20% off and then picked it up at my local store.
Sprayed on the cleaner, saturating the filter inside and out and then let it sit for about 20-25 minutes. Took it to the kitchen sink (shh... don't tell the wife) and rinsed it thoroughly with cool water from the inside out so as to flush the dirt and debris from the filter. Miraculously, the filter was nearly white as new! Sat it in front of a fan for a couple hours until it was dry and then sprayed on the oil.
The oil is what gives it the red color and also makes it very easy to see where you're applying the oil. After applying the oil the filter looked brand new. Let it dry for 30 minutes and into the car it went.
Great product at a great price, thanks to Advance and their generous promotions and coupons.

The products were simple to use, but it took me 3 applications of the cleaning solution and rinsing to get the filter totally clean (and it wasn't overly dirty). The oil took one full application and then a follow-up to get a nice uniform coat.
I had preplanned for this and kept an old fabric filter (that was NOT dirty) to use for a couple days while I cleaned/dried for 24 hours/applied oil/then let sit for 24 hours. Glad I planned ahead a little.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
