As an ex-U.S. Air Force mechanic I can definitely say that's the best oil filter to date for the money. Proven to stand to rigorous tests in high performance engines at high RPMs in real world. Combination of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil with PurePlus Technology and BG MOA Advance Formula oil supplement with that filter on Shells V-Power Nitro+ Premium Gas and STA-BIL 360 Ethanol Engine Protection with AEM Dry FLOW air filter or aFe Power air filter definitely makes the difference in engine performance from the idle to high RPMs. Mileage also jumps 4-5 mpg in the city to mid 20's to high 30's between 40 and 55 mph in Nissan Frontier 4.0 L V6 5 Speed Automatic. Plenty of torque at 2,100 RPM and pulls like a beast at 2,500 RPM and 2,900 RPM whether going up the steep hill or merging into the highway. That's on 39 PSI Nitrogen filled Bridgestone Blizzacks DM-V2 265/70R17 Don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself in disbelief to see dramatic difference. Oil leaks from the filter
This is the second K&N filter for my Honda Crosstour that has leaked oil (2 quarts in 4months) from the holes drilled in the nut portion of the filter. The holes are drilled for a safety wire and they are apparently nicking the oil filter case and causing a hole. Do not buy one that has this hole feature.

I had the same issue as Bill, a previous reviewer. Oil started leaking severely out of the wrench-off nut portion of the filter after a few months. Luckily I caught it before the engine was destroyed.

Now Made In Korea
I went to purchase this filter for my 2006 Honda Accord. I've used this brand filter for years. When I opened the box to examine the filter it had "Made in Korea" on it. I know for a fact that the last filter I purchased by K & N said "Made in the USA" on it. K & N has lost a loyal customer. I also checked other part numbers of K & N and every filter I checked had "Made in Korea" stamped on the filter.

Caveat Emptor
Oil leaked from area around the nut at top of filter. Luckily noticed oil puddles on garage floor before serious damage occurred to my engine due to low oil lever--had leaked approx. 3/4 quart.
The oil filter had been installed and hand tightened. I have been changing oil/oil filters for over 50 years and have never had an issue with a leaking filter....would never have expected the most expensive oil filter I have purchased to be defective.
This filter was not only a huge waste of $$$ (only 3k on oil change,) but I had installed expensive synthetic oil..and the defective filter necessitated also changing the oil.
I sent an email to K & N and politely ask them if they could explain to me why I had the oil leak. They didn't even have the courtesy of a reply.
From the comments I've read, this is not an isolated incident....caveat emptor.
