K & N are known for their premium filtration products. This oil filter complements their air-filter lineup.
It is a wrench off canister oil filter design utilizes many racing technologies. These filters are rated at 99 percent efficiency while providing and maintaining the ability to deliver the needed unrestricted high oil flow. These oil-filters have the added bonus of a one inch nut welded to the canister design providing a simple removal point for close clearance locations or for standardization of oil-filter removal tools. These filters have a superior anti-drainback valve to protect your engine from dry starts.

Some don't Fit
I went to K&N oil filters based on the name - I have purchased these filters for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner V6. Some Filters fit some don't - trouble is it is the same filer. If the filter comes wrap in plastic in the box it will not fit, if the filter is not in plastic it does fit. What I mean by not fitting is the filter will not spin on, it is like it has stripped threads. I will not buy again.

Used To Be Good
Been using these for awhile until I saw they are made in Mexico now. Did some research and apparently quality and construction is worse now. Sad to see things like this get outsourced and go downhill

The new version of this filter is the same construction as a ac delco. Save yourself a bunch of money and buy a ac delco if you wanna run a cheaply made filter. Not what they used to be!! Ran them for 10yrs but not anymore.
I will not buy the 1008 replacement for the 1010
The 1008 Filter is slightly smaller than the 1010 Filter and it doesn't seal completely on my Honda V6 engines causing a leak. Plus the 1008's I bought didn't have the nut on the back causing me to have to buy a new filter wrench.
I have used the K&N filters on many different vehicles and have always been more than happy with them.

Nut welded on to filter makes installation and removal easy in an almost impossible to reach area (back of engine block). Worth a few extra bucks over a cheaper brand. I also saved an extrat 20% by ordering online and picking it up locally.

For only a couple dollars more you can get one, if not the, best oil filters in the market... per several videos and websites I've read. It's very sturdy, heavy, and well built. Also, K&N (as an auto parts company) means business. You can't lose by buying this oil filter.
