Innova OBD2 Diagnostic Scan Tool: Scan All Systems, Free Fix and Part Recs

Bought this scanner first at Advance in Athens, TN. Got it home and found a pre-existing vehicle the scanner had been connected to. Not happy. See attached picture: The 2013 Lancer is NOT my vehicle! Seems like a nice scanner overall with lots of features, only a few of which I have tried so far. One thing that bugged me, though, was that its NOT possible to erase vehicle history so if you change vehicles, you're stuck with the info from the old vehicle until (and this would be fairly improbably) you add enough vehicles that the first ones eventually fall off. Interestingly enough, it's the way I found that the scanner was used. Shame on Advance in Athen, TN on trying to resell a used device. To their credit, when I took the device back to them, they have now marked it as a defective device. Wound up going to Advance in Etowah, TN where they sold me an actual NEW unit. Other features make this a powerful scanner for the money. You are able to not only see engine codes, but also codes from the SRS, ABS, TPMS and others as well as reset them. It is also supposed to work with hybrid vehicles and their added batteries so when we eventually upgrade our vehicles, it should work with them too. I do like the fact that this scanner is hardwired (via connector) to the OBD2 port so it works without any kind of radio communication, but it can also work with an app via Bluetooth for added information capabilities. It is also in a protective rubberized sleeve so it should be able to survive the occasional short fall to the floor. Note that I called Innova directly to ask about how to erase previous vehicles. Was told it was not possible. When I told them that you should be able to erase old vehicle information, was told that it was just my "opinion". Well, that may be true, but why would anyone want to keep ancient vehicle information stored (especially if you never owned it....) which just clutters up the screen. Yep, I don't think so.

Used it to analyze a KIA 2005 Sportage Charging System. The battery passed all tests but the alternator failed. Due to analysis I had vehicle towed to the repair shop to prevent any damage to electrical system or a saftey hazard if the vehicle quit on me in traffic. Easy to use and does a great job of analyzing. After analyzing the Charging Syatem I analyzed all the components on the vehicle and they all passed.

I have two other OBDII scanners that are way better and cost less. If you buy the to see which TPMS sensor may be reading bad- Don't. I figured that this tool would tell me, at least the tire pressure the TPMS is reading. But it doesn't. So even if you use it to reset the TPMS sensor, you won't know which one was reading bad. Forget about an owners manual that tells you what all six categories have in them. There is no owners manual. Contacting them to get an owners manual is a joke. Email after email and still nothing. With the TPMS readings it says Wheel 1, Wheel 2, etc. but it doesn't tell you which wheel is the number 1 and so on. It needs to say DF for drivers front, DR, PF, and PR. I haven't even check ABS yet. I'm kind of scared. I spent a lot of money and I basically have to push buttons until I find what I want because there is no owners manual that comes with it. It says to download and APP to get the manual. Nope still no manual. Then they want you to pay per vehicle for diagnostics. Wow. What a waist of money. I would give zero stars but I don't think you can.
