FRAM Drive Cartridge Oil Filter: Ideal for Conventional Oil, Protection up to 7,500 miles

I use these Fram filters for my Fiat 500 (non-turbo) as an inexpensive alternative to the higher priced filters. I use my Fiat as a gig delivery vehicle, and I change the oil every 5,000 - 7,000 miles. The recommended Fiat interval is up to 8,000 miles, and these filters protect for up to 7,500, so it's a near perfect match. I've used these filters with synthetic and synthetic blend oils, and I've never had an issue. They're effective and economical, so buying them doesn't cut into my delivery profit.

I needed to change oil in my 2007 Volvo S40 2.4l and I realized that I was out of OEM Mann HU7198X filters. My local AAP store had this one in stock, so I decided to give it a try. However, despite being shown in a picture, there was no rubber o-ring in the box. I didn't want to re-use my old ring, so I went to another car parts store right away and bought another brand of filter which, as expected, had this o-ring there. Not sure if Fram stopped supplying rings with this filter, or it was a bad quality control on Fram's part, or AAP somehow lost the ring, but I certainly should've checked the box right away. Well, lesson learned.
