Easy to handle and drain
Finally replaced an old traditional round-style drain pan with this rectangular shaped one;(the caps had disintegrated on the old one)This new one fits in tighter spaces. I also like the fact that since the catch basin is smaller, it's easier and faster to clean. The smaller size and handle position makes it easier to drain too. Advance also carries a waste oil jug, also made by Flotool (its not shown on their website though)that I also bought in the store (it was only $7) So I was able to immediately drain the oil from the drain pan into the jug, which has a nice wide base with a tight lid. Then it was super easy to take it to get recycled. Great combination!

Used it but tossed it out after one use
Got this to change the oil in my 6.7 Cummins which holds 12 quarts. FiRst thing I noticed, the dump spout cap had no seal. Just plastic cap on plastic spout was supposed to seal well enough to hold back 12 quarts of pitch black diesel oil. Next thing noticed was when I removed the plug from the pan where the oil drains onto, under it we're two small holes maybe 3/8" diameter each. I didn't think those were adequate to allow oil inside quickly enough while 12 quarts were dumping straight into it. I drilled those out a little larger and added two more. Good thing because when the oil did drain into the pan, it filled it up about halfway before the flow equalized and stopped rising. Thankfully!!
After all was drained into the pan, I saw oil just at the bottom of the holes I had just drilled. The 12 quarts was really about all this would hold before oil would no longer drain inside. I cleaned it up and screwed the plug back in but it didn't tighten well and easily came loose if tightened more. I tightened it as best it would go. By this time the dump cap had started to seep. I lifted the entire unit on end to hopefully have the oil below the drain plug and not seep out there. Sadly that wasn't the case. Had to keep it stored on a slight incline so it wouldn't seep out of either the cap or plug. Dumped the oil at the recycler and tossed out the pan. I'll look elsewhere for a better one with a true capacity much greater than 12 quarts.
