I used this to fill my manual transmission. I went to a home improvement store and bought a longer hose for a couple of bucks. This allowed me to hold the funnel above the engine compartment and reach the fill hole on the side of the manual transmission. End result was neat and easy fill of manual transmission.

Useful...after some modification
This product proved useful but not right out of the box (so to speak). I tested it for leaks and operation before use with water. First of all, the tube was kinked. I asked for another one but all of them were that way. That's the way the are packaged. It wasn't cut and for the price, I just accepted it. The control nozzle works and is more than just on/off. You can turn it a little and regulate the flow. HOWEVER, it did leak right at the connection to the funnel. After careful inspection, it was due to a metal screen that's used as a filter. The connection does have a rubber gasket, however, the screen gets in the way of the gasket preventing a good seal. The screen comes out very easily (it sits between the funnel and the screw-on connector). I removed the screen and noticed that it is over-sized and sits over a lip that's meant for the gasket to seal against. I carefully trimmed the screen with a pair of scissors (if you have a circular stamp, that would be even easier and faster). You need to trim it so it still fits in the opening but is slightly smaller than the lip. It's not much. I trimmed maybe 1/16-1/8 inch around. I placed it back in and put the gasket back and it sealed perfectly! No more leak. An easier way is to just remove the screen. No filter, but usually new oil is clean. I decided to prove a point that it could work with the screen. It didn't take very long to do. Overall, for the price, I am happy with it's performance. I was able to measure my transmission fluid to accurately refill my transmission (jetta tdi's don't have a dipstick for the transmission fluid so you have to measure what you drain and replace with the same amount - go figure).

Not good
This item leaks between the funnel and the screw in tubing. Tried using sealant tape around the threads to eliminate the leak but still did not work. I was using it as a hanging fuel tank for my motorcycle and eventually just threw it away.

Excellent value
I bought this originally to add transmission fluid. It's a perfect fit into my Volvo's tranny disptick tube. I then used it to Seafoam my engine - connecting perfectly to a vacuum line with the built in nipple. I also used it to put additive in the gas tank. Its worked for every application.
I was suprised at how well the valve works and was expecting it to leak a little but it didn't at all.
The only minor imperfection is the PVC tube being a little flimsy and it tended to fold over a little too easily.
For the price its terrific.

I use one to fill the transmission fluid, and another one to fill the antifreeze. The great part about this funnel is the flow control underneath the funnel, if you need a little flow, twist open slightly. I did not experience any leakage by the way.
