Felpro Rubber-Fiber 1/32" (10" x 26") Sheet Gasket Making Material

I bought this Felpro Gasket Material when I couldn't find a specific carburetor gasket that I needed for my lawn mower. It was easy to cut into a custom gasket shape (using scissors or an exacto knife) and has worked great. The packaging lists it as applicable to sealing air, oil, fuel or water. I've used this material before on other applications (including fuel connection gaskets and intake manifold gaskets) for a custom built race car. It has usually worked great and is nice to have on hand for the times when you can't go out and buy a specialty gasket. Only downside is that the gasket tends to peel off in layers/shreds if you have to remove it after it's been installed for a while, but that's true of most fiber-based gaskets. Good thing is you'll have plenty of material left over to cut another one as long as you're working on something small. It'd also be nice to have multiple thicknesses of gasket material on hand, but this does fine for general purpose stuff.

The material comes tightly rolled so when you remove the wrapping it basically still stays in a big curl. It would be better if it were simply sold in a smaller piece and laid flat. That said though it saved me a lot of time and headache trying to order replacement intake gaskets for a generator. I was able to photocopy the damaged ones and use that as a template trace/cut new ones. Worked like a champ. Another "it would be nice" feature would be to print grid lines on the material to help making long straight cuts. Not a must-have but simply something that would help with cutting out long, thin gaskets like intake covers and such.

Installing a water pump on high performance sports car. Looked to this as an alternative to delay in special re-ordering defective gasket. Using old gasket as a template, produced an exact replica including complex shapes & bolt holes. This material cut cleanly & precisely without distortion or delamination. Applied high tack sealer to both sides. It worked perfectly.

Custon cut gaskets are necessary with many vehicles. I recommend this for most oil, gas, water seal.
