It was exactly what I needed
I've been driving into very rural places with no cell signal and theres always a possibility that sometimes AAA might not tow me. I'm not a master mechanic, but I have been improving. Nonetheless, I've been in situations where if something went wrong, I might have to fix it right then and there.
I put in a new water pump, but less than 1k miles later, it got oxidized. That concerned me because I just removed Mt radiator and found that the front (against the AC condenser) was green as all get out. I've already killed two aftermarket water temperature gauges and possibly two thermostats.
I'm not taking anymore chances. So in route to a full radiator and block flush, I discovered that the water pump that I recently put in was not torqued down enough, so out of an abundance of caution, I put an even newer one in. When I did that, I bolted through and messed up the right gasket that came with it. Now, I'm going to be more careful, but the water pump is bulky and it's difficult to maneuver it all to bolt it in and keep the gaskets lined up right.

Same Chevy water pump gasket for 30 years
This Water pump gasket should be included in the box with a new pump, but if you remove the pump, replace the two gaskets with these. Silicone every connection including the four bolts that attach the pump to the block.
