Fixed My Electric Fan Perfectly 3.0 OHV
I see negative comments but this worked great for me on a 99 Sable which is the same as a Taurus. There are two 3.0 motors and both have different parts. One is OHV and the other motor has two cams. Late 90's 4.0 motors the same thing. You can tell by the VIN code if you don't know which motor you have.
The 3.0 OHV and 4.0 OHV this fits. My electric fan wasn't coming on and I had a code for the ECT. Now the fan works like it should. This sensor is two wires. Right behind it is a second coolant sensor with one wire. That goes to the gauge. It's that setup on all motors I've encountered. Two wires fan/computer, one wire gauge. I dropped it one star as the threads were not sealed as pictured.

Bring Your Old switch to the store
Bring your old switch with you to the store. The on line order said 4 switches fit my 24 valve Taurus. When we checked the switch connection, 2 of the switches did not mate with the plug fitting. Save yourself some trouble and bring along your old switch to avoid a return trip. Advance is a little off on the application data on this one.

Sensor worked OK, but looks very generic. Doesn't look anything like the picture.
there are two temperature sensor for the Ranger. The gauge one has an offset groove, the computer one has a groove in the center. this unit had the groove ground off apparently making it universal. the counter person showed me another one, for $8 less, looked more correct, but couldn't refund yet, as I ordered online and paid with Paypal.
