Good Quality paint
I am not a fan of rattle cans when it comes to paint. I was impressed with this Duplicolor wheel paint because it really covered in one application. Because I was using a light silver, I used one coat of light grey primer to cover and add adhesion to the old wheels. This wheel paint has a nice metallic finish, but it does flash very quickly. Because of the heavy metallic content, keep shaking the can while painting for an even color. I used two medium coats on two small wheels and only used 1/2 the can. With other spray paints, you would need at least one can per wheel to get a solid color. I really dreaded the thought of getting out spray equipment to paint a set of wheels. This Duplicolor Wheel Paint saved me the trouble and clean up of using automotive paint.

Great Paint but Junk Spray Nozzle!!
I've purchased SIX cans of this stuff and only two have worked. The pins in these junk spray cans are supposed to engage the spray mechanism but they are shorter than the other properly working rattle cans. Waste of money. You only see three cans in the pictures because the fourth unfortunately met my anger. REDESIGN YOUR SPRAY MECHANISMS!!!

Wonderful Look

Used this to refinish my worn M5 rims. I like the color and look of the rims after using this graphite color more so then the original factory color. This item paired with the clear resulted in a brand new looking rims with exceptional professional finish. I love Duplicolor's products and have been using them for years. This was my first time using the graphite, and debated this over the siver and was so glad I picked this one up at my local Advance. Well worth the effort and the end result looks fantastic and custom!

Works and looks great

As with any paint products, surface prep is the key. I've used this brand of wheel paint a few times and it has held up to Chicago winters and every day driving for several years. Sand out any curb rash (if needed) thuroughly clean the surface, wet sand using scotchbrite pads, clean again and make sure its completely dry. I wipe them down with wax and grease remover. Spray on 2-3 light even coats, finish with 1-2 clear costs. The wheels will shine, sparkle and look better than new.

Newbie Warning!!
This product is not formulated to spray a mix of paint and fairy dust (those sparkly things) evenly! Let every coat of this paint dry for at least 24 hours before proceeding to next step. I said 24 hours because you will be able to see the damage caused by loose fairy dust then. Your next step will be to wet sand the painted surface with a 600-1000 grit unit, so that you get rid of the roughness caused by any loose fairy dust. I have a metal bumper off of my 99 explorer that took weeks to restore, and now the paint job is pretty much botched. I dont have the time to repaint it, but I am saving you the hassle :) I'm giving this product two stars to catch your attention. Otherwise, this is a 10 star product!

For small surface areas only.

They should have put allot better spray nozzels on these cans. It sprays allot in the center of the spray pattern, tons of overspray anywhere but the center. Very bad for a mettalic flake finish. It drys so fast on a 70 degree day, the paint dosent have time to self level, creating a very rough / powdery surface. It will need to be finely wet sanded smooth and buffed out. May be good for small surfaces, anything else forget it. On the other hand it seems to be quite a durable finish, but needs a better nozzel and longer setup times.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
